How important is the Death and Resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ?

How important is the Death and Resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ?

As we gather together to remember the events that led to Death and then to the resurrection of the Lord, we know that this is actually the Good News of the Gospel. Our faith is in the Son of God, who has come into the world, has lived a holy life, has done well and yet has been crucified, died but the third day has risen! Here are some things that raise the Gospel to the greatest importance:

1.The gospel is the power of God for salvation!

The gospel, in the center of which is the death and resurrection of the Lord, is the power of God for salvation.

For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes (Rom. 1:16).

2.Sins are forgiven by faith in the Lord Jesus!

By the death of Jesus at the cross, the sins of all mankind were paid.

Know ye, brethren, that in Him is the forgiveness of sins, and whosoever believed is forgiven by all things of which ye could not be forgiven by the law of Moses. (Acts 13: 38-39)

3.The Savior Is Alive!

In the apostle Paul’s statement about the gospel he preached, the resurrection of Jesus is central. (1 Corinthians 15: 1-8)

Without this truth, there is no Good News and the apostle writes that without the Lord’s Resurrection: our preaching is in vain and your faith is in vain. The value of our faith lies in the fact that the Savior is alive and does not die!

To be Christian means to believe in the resurrection. Christ has risen!
