Younger Group Devotional (Preschool-3rd)

Today we read from 2 Chronicles 36 and learned about what happened to the Kingdom of Judah.

  • What happened to the Kingdom of Judah?
  • Which nation did God use to take Judah captive?
  • Why do you think God allowed Judah to be taken captive?
  • Judah’s kings were bad, but we have a good king! Do you remember His name?
  • Do you remember the Memory Verse?

2 Chronicles 7:14 “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”

Older Group Devotional (4th-Teen)

Today we learned about what happened in conclusion to the Kingdom of Judah. Just like Israel, Judah too was wiped out, taken captive because God allowed it. Though they had some good kings, they mostly had evil kings that disobeyed God without hesitation. The story does not stop there. Judah, and all of God’s children, have hope because of the New Covenant – Jesus.

  • Do you remember the Memory Verse?

2 Chronicles 7:14 “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”

  • Read Jeremiah 31:31-34 together
    • What was the old covenant?
  • Read Luke 22:20 together
    • What is the new covenant?
  • Read Ephesians 2:8-10 together
    • What does ‘grace’ mean?
    • What does ‘good works’ mean?
    • Give 3 examples of ‘good works’.
  • Though ‘good works’ does not save, why is it still important to do them?
