Important announcement, Saturday May 23rd, 2020

Published on May 23, 2020

Dear brothers and sisters, God is at work! Halleluiah!

Yesterday, all of you have seen president Donald J. Trump, announcing that he recognizes churches as essential, as he appeared to order state governors to allow congregations to gather for worship. This action was something we all been praying and waiting for.

Following that announcement, together with the church board, we researched the CDC recommendations to which president Trump made reference. In the end, we decided that it would be irresponsible for us, to rush into reopening the church for tomorrow, Sunday May 24th for two reasons:

First, it is not clear if the CDC recommendations regarding opening churches, have been completely updated to support president Trump’s announcement. For example, one underlining recommendation is to stay consistent with applicable state laws and regulations. We know, the state law is limiting gatherings to 25 people and the time is too short, to get clarification on this and a few other CDC recommendations.

Secondly, we want to do this right and to protect all our church members. We are a large congregation, with many members eager to come and worship the Lord together. This requires that we make and document our plans for disinfecting the building, for safely entering and exiting, for maintaining distance, and all other necessary preparations for the best experience possible, for all of you.

Please join us online tomorrow, at 10AM and 6PM, when we will provide updated announcements as necessary. We ask for your patience as we prepare for a safe relaunching of the church.

My brethren, take the prophets, who spoke in the name of the Lord, as an example of suffering and patience. Indeed we count them blessed who endure. (James 5:10-11 NKJV)

Thank you for your patience and prayers, as we promise to accomplish quickly all the preparation work. May God bless you and your families!
